How to use this creature in practice

Infantry screening shooters and heroes

Keep it on the approach to Crossbowmen. A stun is most valuable against a stack whose next action threatens you.

Watch for: Stun is not guaranteed. Do not send it alone into encirclement just for a chance to trigger it.

Steals 2 mana from an enemy caster and transfers it to a friendly caster if present. Magic resistance can stop it; without a recipient the mana is not banked.

  • Flying

Abilities and limitations

  • Insubstantial

Increases innate defense. In Heroes IV this is not the chance for a normal attack to miss found in other games; use the listed defense ratings.

  • Aging

Reduces an eligible target’s attack and defense by 20% and movement by 50%. Undead, elementals and mechanical creatures resist the effect.

  • Flying

Crosses obstacles, units and walls during combat movement. It still needs a free, reachable landing position.

  • Undead

Does not use ordinary morale and resists many mind effects and spells requiring living targets. Healing or raising must explicitly support undead.

Comparing entries

74 creatures from historical Jaskinia Behemota tables: 48 town creatures and 26 neutrals, including four from The Gathering Storm and three from Winds of War. This is not a separate Equilibris database. Action speed, combat movement and adventure movement are distinct stats. Melee and ranged defense are listed separately. Growth is a weekly comparison value; Heroes IV adds creatures daily. Check how a neutral creature can actually be obtained.

Resource costs are part of recruitment. For an entire stack, multiply every component, not just gold. Base growth excludes additional town, map and hero bonuses. Zero shots means no regular ranged attack; the creature can still have spells or other active abilities.
