How to use this hero

Home faction: Temple

Temple expeditions with a travel specialty

Choose Ister for a Temple expedition that uses Wayfarer and Basic Logistics. Compare routes, safe rewards and recruitment distance on the actual map. Starting Swordsmen, Crossbowmen and Griffins offer protection, shooting and fast contact; the travel advantage alone does not win a harder battle.

Secondary role: Main commander if movement is supported by skills suited to the main army.

What the profile establishes

Specialty · Wayfarer

Movement points gain 5% per eight levels, with improved road travel as well. Compare actual reachable objectives rather than percentages alone.

Listed starting skills

  • Basic Logistics
  • Basic Righteousness
Suggested army and further development

The following is our recommendation. Creatures, spells and items must actually be acquired; this does not establish current inventory.

First use the objective reachable today. Tie further combat development to the army he will actually keep; a logistics assistant need not receive the main commander’s equipment.

Skills I would build around: Basic Logistics · Basic Righteousness. Match further choices to available ranks and the current army.

Creatures connected to this hero

A specialty target, conversion and tactical example are different relationships. Check conversion costs and compare individual upgrade forms on creature cards. A tactical example is not a confirmed starting army.

Detailed game plan · Ister: map objectives, roads and a combat-ready Temple army

The following is our tactical analysis of the sourced profile. Choices depend on the actual map, learned spells and army; linked cards provide rules and references.

  1. Choose an objective movement actually helps reach

Ister is a Temple Knight listing Logistics and Righteousness. Wayfarer adds 5% movement points every eight levels and improves road travel. Compare two actual routes, supply and hostile-contact risk. A higher percentage does not help if it still fails to reach the objective or delivers an army unable to defeat its guard. If rough terrain defines the route, compare Leon’s different Pathfinder specialty too.

  2. Separate reinforcement travel from the main attack

As an additional hero, use him for safe collection, scouting and delivering needed troops when this actually saves the main army time. Before independent combat, compare assigned troop strength. A movement specialty itself adds neither creature Attack nor another learned spell and does not fix a bad engagement with a stronger guard.

  3. Value the army within the stated reference build

At the listed prices, ten Crossbowmen cost 950 gold and have 100 total base maximum HP. Ten base Swordsmen cost 850 gold and have 120 base HP. Five Griffins cost 1,350 gold and have 150 base HP; use their reference Initiative nine and Speed five when judging deployment timing. Compare Swordsmen’s ranged defense and the Griffins’ actual flying and retaliation rules on their cards. These are unit reference values with their own build label, not a promise of identical values in every later version.

  4. After arrival, plan resources other than movement

Build the fight around protecting Crossbowmen and the opponent’s actual reach. Hero mana, available spells and Focus for creature abilities are separate questions that Wayfarer does not solve. Check required charge, cooldown and a useful target before activating an ability. Delivering reinforcements matters when the army can use them at the right moment.

Temple scouting and difficult-terrain routes

Compare Leon with Ister by the actual route. Pathfinder and Basic Scouting matter where terrain travel and information improve the next turn. His reference army mixes Swordsmen, Crossbowmen and Griffins. Before splitting the army, check guard strength and a safe return route.

Secondary role: Main commander if movement is supported by skills suited to the main army.

Choose John for a Temple army built around the Swordsman line in melee. His reference start lists three separate Swordsman stacks; assess each stack’s survival, retaliation and next usable attack. Keep town recruitment growth separate from bonuses to creatures under his command.

What the profile establishes

Specialty · Salt of the Earth

Swordsmen: +1 growth in owned towns. Under this hero they gain +1 Speed, +1 Initiative and +20% health; Attack and Defense increase by 1 per three levels. Enemy creatures of that type lose an equivalent amount of Attack and Defense. Consider the opponent’s composition too.

A Temple army that benefits from Morale

Choose Aeos when useful army actions and Morale matter. He has Basic Leadership and Rousing Presence. Do not count a bonus activation as guaranteed; build a position with a useful target when it occurs and protected shooters when it does not.

What the profile establishes

Temple gem income and scouting

Hire Avis when Temple needs gems and there is time to use his income. Gem Seeker supports daily production and gem pickups; Basic Recruitment and the listed Groundsight offer further map-dependent uses. A neutral-army marker alone establishes neither its exact count nor a safe attack.

Secondary role: Use him as a second commander for collection and reinforcements. Keep a developed Avis in the main role when his combat skills outweigh a replacement.

What the profile establishes

Specialty · Gem Seeker

Daily Gems income: +1, increasing by +1 per 5 levels. Adventure-map finds of that resource gain 100%. Compare long-term income with your town’s current construction needs.

Melee army · Cavalry and upgrades

Choose Keandra for a Temple army built around Cavalry. She starts with Basic Offense, and her reference profile assigns both Swordsmen and Cavalry. Compare Noble Cavalry and Sunspear Cavalry by their own abilities.

What the profile establishes

Creatures connected to this hero

A specialty target, conversion and tactical example are different relationships. Check conversion costs and compare individual upgrade forms on creature cards. A tactical example is not a confirmed starting army.

Detailed game plan · Keandra: a safe charge and choosing Cavalry

The following is our tactical analysis of the sourced profile. Choices depend on the actual map, learned spells and army; linked cards provide rules and references.

  1. Read the actual assigned stacks

Reference Keandra has 14–20 Swordsmen and 2–3 Cavalry, Basic Righteousness and Basic Offense. My first choice is a Temple army with available cavalry reinforcements. Check the actual map before fighting: the specialty strengthens a particular line but does not supply missing riders or a safe route to the target.

  2. Map the enemy reply before charging

First identify the destination, route and enemies able to attack after arrival. The source distinguishes the base Jousting Bonus of 5% per hex moved from the upgraded 10% version. A longer move is therefore not automatically better: compare retaliation, follow-up attacks and whether infantry can maintain contact. Do not assign upgrade abilities to the base stack.

  3. Noble for tempo, Sunspear for positive effects

Noble Cavalry has Charge!: three Focus, a three-round cooldown and +1 Speed and Initiative for friendly creatures for two rounds, without ending its turn. Choose it when this creates a useful action or reach. Sunspear Cavalry instead gains Attack when receiving a positive effect. Choose by available support, remaining Focus and the battlefield situation.

  4. Separate future recruitment from current battle strength

The specialty’s town growth and bonuses to commanded creatures are separate effects. First secure cavalry reinforcements and safe battle completion, then choose offensive or defensive development for the opponent. Against the same creature line, also consider its Attack and Defense penalty; the bonuses alone do not guarantee victory.

How to use this hero

Home faction: Temple

Temple command built on personal Attack and Defense

Use Edgar as a Temple commander when True Lord can turn his Attack and Defense into creature benefits. He starts with Basic Battlecraft. Before assigning the best army, compare actual attributes, other skills and an alternative specialist; the class name alone does not determine performance.

What the profile establishes

Specialty · True Lord

Friendly creatures receive additional Attack and Defense equal to 10% of the hero’s corresponding attributes; the share gains 5 percentage points every five levels. Hero equipment therefore also matters.

Listed starting skills

  • Basic Righteousness
  • Basic Battlecraft
Suggested army and further development

The following is our recommendation. Creatures, spells and items must actually be acquired; this does not establish current inventory.

Compare attributes and equipment through both True Lord and ordinary army command. Do not treat a percentage benefit as a fixed number at every level or guess unsupported rounding.

Choose Mandall for an army able to follow up against the same target. Heroic Smite improves Heroic Strike damage and then the damage the target receives; Basic Combat is his sourced start. Choose by action order: the marked enemy must remain reachable by your attackers.

What the profile establishes

Specialty · Heroic Smite

Heroic Strike gains +10 damage, then +5 per six levels. The target takes 10% extra damage until the next round ends; this effect stacks. Prepare follow-up attacks.

  • Basic Righteousness
  • Basic Combat

Temple expeditions with adventure magic

Choose Elias for a longer expedition with usable adventure magic. Spiritual Vigor expands daily adventure-spell uses and mana capacity; it does not automatically grant every spell. He starts with Reinforcements and Basic Diplomacy. For Reinforcements, first identify an eligible controlled external dwelling and check its available recruits.

What the profile establishes

A specialty target, conversion and tactical example are different relationships. Check conversion costs and compare individual upgrade forms on creature cards. A tactical example is not a confirmed starting army.

Detailed game plan · Zenith: Lightweavers, an Avatar and three separate budgets

The following is our tactical analysis of the sourced profile. Choices depend on the actual map, learned spells and army; linked cards provide rules and references.

  1. The reference start has three real stacks

The source lists 12–17 Swordsmen and two separate stacks of 3–5 Lightweavers. Choose Zenith for Temple shooters with usable support. Weigh two ranged actions against the vulnerability of smaller stacks; a base Lightweaver can shoot or use Inner Glow. Do not automatically give the opening army its upgrades’ abilities.

  2. The skill, the cast and the temporary creature

Zenith has Basic Summon Avatar as a skill and its corresponding spell in the sourced start. The Avatar costs no mana, but the casting opportunity still matters. It disappears after three hits from any source; higher health does not replace this rule. Use it to block or attack where it protects shooters or removes a dangerous enemy action.

  3. Budget mana and Focus separately

Heavenly Blades is another sourced spell, with a listed cost of 21 mana. Before casting, check current reserves, an eligible attacker and opportunities for repeated basic attacks. Focus spent on Inner Glow or another creature ability is a separate budget. Heavenly Blades healing does not return fallen stack members; do not treat it as resurrection.

  4. Choose the upgrade for the next problem

Prefer Hierophant when Holy Ablution addresses negative effects and missing HP: it costs three Focus, has a three-round cooldown and cannot restore fallen creatures. Sun Herald offers Exaltation for maximum damage and its own Damage increase after a positive effect. Before recruiting, compare opponents, cost and whether actions and Focus remain for the chosen plan.

The following is our tactical analysis of the sourced profile. Choices depend on the actual map, learned spells and army; linked cards provide rules and references.

  1. Separate the base spell and Masterful

Julius starts with Healing Water and specializes in its Masterful form. The extra removal of negative effects does not automatically belong to every other hero using the ordinary version. This analysis follows the labelled reference build; beta changes have their own scope.

  2. Healing does not return fallen members

Healing Water repairs surviving creatures’ wounds rather than returning dead members. Choose a stack with actual healable damage and valid eligibility; Undead, Embodiments and Constructs do not fit this plan. Once a valuable creature is lost, the same budget does not become resurrection.

  3. A higher rank is not just one larger instant heal

At spell levels three and four another healing pulse arrives at the next round’s start. Its recipient must survive until then. Check order, enemy reach and any screening movement in advance; do not treat both pulses’ sum as immediately available health.

  4. The army must use the time gained

Turn saved health into another useful attack, safe movement or maintained shooter protection. Plan shared Focus separately from spell mana and the army’s actual hits. If the same unresolved threat merely returns next round, compare healing with removing the attacker or changing formation.

How to use this hero

Home faction: Temple

Temple attacks with Masterful Blessing

Choose Vesper for Temple attackers able to exploit maximum damage from Masterful Blessing. He has Basic Daylight Magic. Compare each stack’s Damage range: forcing the maximum of a base Lightweaver’s fixed 11–11 is less useful than for a wider range, although other spell effects may still help.

What the profile establishes

Specialty · Blessing

Masterful Blessing: The target always deals maximum damage. Gains +1 effective Spell Power per two levels when cast. Check range, target eligibility and cooldown before casting.

Listed starting skills

  • Basic Righteousness
  • Basic Daylight Magic
Suggested army and further development

The following is our recommendation. Creatures, spells and items must actually be acquired; this does not establish current inventory.

Before casting, check target eligibility, whether a basic attack can be completed and how many further attacks the effect covers. A larger card value does not help a stack unable to attack.

Skills I would build around: Basic Daylight Magic · Basic Righteousness. Match further choices to available ranks and the current army.

Temple tempo with Masterful Arina’s Touch

Use Anastasia when Masterful Arina’s Touch changes a reachable target or the Temple army’s next action. She starts with Basic Thaumaturgy, and this spell variant also adds Speed. Distinguish Speed from Initiative: reaching an enemy is a different benefit from acting earlier.

What the profile establishes

Specialty · Hymn to Arina

Masterful Arina’s Touch: Adds 1 Speed to the target. Gains +1 effective Spell Power per two levels when cast. Check range, target eligibility and cooldown before casting.

Secondary role: Use a scouting and supply expedition with an appropriate army. If she is already experienced and equipped, compare her actual combat abilities before replacing her with a specialist.

What the profile establishes

Economic and support hero

Use daily income on an additional hero who also collects available resources and transports reinforcements. Compare recruitment cost with remaining days. Do not automatically bench a developed fighter solely because of the income specialty.

Secondary role: A second commander for reinforcements and easier fights, provided this does not slow the main army.

Spell support for the army

Use this hero to support the army around the spells below. Check actual mission availability, eligible targets and enough mana for the whole battle plan. The linked spell card explains suitable uses.

What the profile establishes

Specialty · Alvarian Hydra

Hydras: +1 growth in owned towns. Under this hero they gain +1 Speed, +1 Initiative and +20% health; Attack and Defense increase by 1 per three levels. Enemy creatures of that type lose an equivalent amount of Attack and Defense. Consider the opponent’s composition too.

Listed starting skills

  • Advanced Triumvirate's Strength
Suggested army and further development

The following is our recommendation. Creatures, spells and items must actually be acquired; this does not establish current inventory.

Choose support by the decisive target and remaining casts. Build on a school actually established in the profile; a listed spell alone does not establish every mastery rank.

Skills I would build around: Advanced Triumvirate's Strength. Match further choices to available ranks and the current army.

Creatures I would consider

Spells for this plan

  • TauntSourced starting spell

Choose a durable stack and check which threats actually lie inside the radius. Many small hits undermine the nominal duration.

Daylight spells gain +1 level, then another per ten hero levels. Casting them does not lock other spells of the same school, and the enemy hero cannot cast this spell type. Keep spell type separate from its school.

  • Inner LightSourced starting spell

Compare the remaining duration of the most harmful debuffs. At level three, adjacent affected allies improve the return if reaching them does not waste a critical action.

Disable a threat while clearing other enemies. Accidental area damage can waste both the control and the only chance to sleep that stack.

Comparing entries

108 standard faction profiles, 18 per faction. The official data inventory also lists 48 campaign/scenario and 21 tutorial configurations; their full starting states and portraits are not individually established here yet. Profiles retain cited revisions or dated individual reviews. Omitted skill ranks are not guessed, and values do not automatically apply to newer builds.

Profile count is not the number of unique people: a different campaign version can have its own card. This inventory does not include every scenario’s starting armies or every specialty formula.
