Campaign boss
Michael
How to use this creature in practice
Scenario opponent with special rules
Before the encounter identify the boss’s active form and actual abilities. Deploy for dangerous affected areas and scenario conditions; this does not imply recruitment.
Watch for: A boss is not an ordinary recruitable stack. Price and available numbers cannot be inferred from similarly named lesser creatures.
Timing, specific abilities and the follow-up plan
Combat movement 100 and Initiative 50 are separate. Choose a reachable target by current order and the actual physical or magical attack type.
- Improved Word of Light: Restores health while striking the enemy army with Light based on 5% of initial combined health. Restoration can undo incremental damage to support targets.
- Zone of Holy Blades: Allies in a 3 × 3 area deal 50% more Light damage for two rounds. The effect is not a general 50% bonus to physical attacks.

A separate campaign boss. Values describe a reference profile; the mission, combat phase and settings can affect the encounter. It has no ordinary recruitment or price.
Abilities and limitations
Improved Word of Light
Restores health while striking the enemy army with Light based on 5% of initial combined health. Restoration can undo incremental damage to support targets.
Zone of Holy Blades
Allies in a 3 × 3 area deal 50% more Light damage for two rounds. The effect is not a general 50% bonus to physical attacks.
Last Wish
Sends eight rays from a fallen allied stack, dealing 12,500 Light damage along their paths. Fallen support stacks’ positions become dangerous battlefield features.
Avenging Rage
If Michael has no eligible allied target for Last Wish, he gains an extra action each round for the rest of battle. The state cannot be dispelled.
Debuff immunity
Michael and Uriel resist harmful status effects. Dispelling or control used against ordinary units may therefore be an invalid solution.
Living
Can receive applicable healing and resurrection and is affected by morale. A particular spell must still satisfy its own targeting rules.
Boss immunities
The boss resists movement and initiative reduction, blindness, mind control and action-denial effects. A plan built solely on repeatedly disabling an ordinary stack does not carry over.
