How to use this hero
Home faction: Haven
Army command · Haven
Protect shooters and watch melee creatures’ facing. Flanking depends on the actual attack direction. The listed army guides planning, but a mission may change its counts.
What the profile establishes
The complete starting skill list is not established here. The specialty identifies explicitly granted abilities.
Suggested army and further development
The following is our recommendation. Creatures, spells and items must actually be acquired; this does not establish current inventory.
Build further choices around the listed skills and the needs of the current army. Choose equipment for the actual bottleneck: survival, attack effectiveness, mana or movement.

Equipment I would compare
Compare effect, slot and acquisition conditions on the item card. A suggestion does not establish that the hero starts with it.
Campaign, availability and use
Ivan of House Griffin is central to Heroes VII’s framing story and commands its final campaign. His availability belongs to particular scenarios. This profile does not assign campaign Ivan a default army or ordinary town-hall recruitment.
Exact starting attributes, skills, army, released-game class and numerical specialty of this campaign profile are not yet independently established. Pre-release footage and another hero’s class baseline are not substitutes.
Documented scenarios and progression conditions
The Tears of the World
The first campaign map. The guide requires completion of at least two faction campaigns to unlock it. Peace Offering requires speaking to Murazel, Kente, Anastasya and Lasir.
Before detouring for an optional reward, distinguish story progression from army improvement. Compare the objective gained, travel days and reinforcements for each route. Speaking to a character does not establish ordinary recruitment availability.
The Dream of What Could Be
The second and final map opposes Seamus. The river can be crossed via a dam or Jorgen’s underground route. The guide prices a map-catapult repair at 20 wood, 20 ore and one turn.
Keep a recruitment and building reserve before repairing. Compare the wood and ore commitment with expected breakthrough losses; a catapult is not an automatic free victory. Judge the underground route against current army position and return travel time.
Army-management decisions
The main army and supporting tasks
Before splitting strength among heroes, identify the next mandatory battle and the army meant to win it. Separately assess a support hero’s supply movement, territorial tasks and actual survival prospects. More portraits do not automatically increase concentrated strength at the objective.
Equipment for the planned battle
Before a major fight compare offensive, defensive and morale bonuses from actually equipped items. Spirit concerns mana capacity and recovery rather than automatic spell learning; hero map Movement and creature combat movement are distinct. A few similarly named items do not establish a complete equipped set.
Inspect the defenders before attacking
Ranged defenders call for a different plan from flyers or a long approach to a wall. Check formation against the actual abilities of your units. Legionnaire has Shielding and base Sentinel does not in this game; a similar Heroes VI ability name does not establish the same damage split.
Spells and suitable equipment
This profile’s individual starting spells are not yet established. A school or recommendation below does not confirm spellbook contents.
Equipment suggestions for the plan (2)
Editorial suggestions based on sourced magic or an army plan. These are not starting inventory or guaranteed finds. Check acquisition, slot and rules on the item card.
Crimson ScytheSuggestionAdds five Might.
For a plan based on the led army’s physical attacks. Its benefit depends on your creatures and opposing defense.
Dwarven ShieldSuggestionAdds 2 Defense.
For an army exposed to attacks; compare the protection with the actual incoming damage type.
