Heroes II · 99 ITEMS

99 Heroes II artifacts: bonuses, protection and Anduran

99 item types with native icons and independently written Czech and English effects, rules and tactics. Separate 82 The Succession Wars entries from 17 The Price of Loyalty entries, including benefits, drawbacks, stacking and spell requirements.

Detailed numerical rules are pinned to fheroes2 revision e397b1f. Includes Magic Book and assembled Battle Garb while excluding editor random placeholders. Each type has its native 74 × 74 GIF from Jaskinia Behemota. The community introduction says 98, while its individual illustrations and this revision’s real definitions each give 99; the cause is not guessed. A particular Spell Scroll’s spell remains a parameter rather than a duplicated item card.

Rules, conditions and restrictions

Post-battle raising requires learned Necromancy. The artifact contributes one to the shrine-bonus count, capped at seven contributions overall, with final Necromancy capped at 100%. Another identical spade adds no contribution.

Stacking copies and distinct types
  • Necromancy contribution: Identical copies do not repeat; distinct types with this effect add.

Practical use

Give it to a winning necromancer and check room for Skeletons. Compare raised troops with your own losses rather than seeking otherwise unfavorable fights.

Where to compare it in practice

Conditional uses and multiple profiles to compare. Links establish neither item owners nor guaranteed starting inventory.

Economy and reinforcements

For a carrier with Necromancy after an eligible victory; assess the skeletons actually gained.

This is neither passive daily income or full resurrection of a destroyed army nor teaching Necromancy to a hero lacking it.

How artifacts work in this game

The fourteen-slot bag is shared; Magic Book uses one slot and cannot be traded. Buying one for 500 gold does not replace spell availability, Wisdom and mana requirements. A scroll or Anduran-granted spell still requires a book and casting mana.

Each benefit and drawback has its own stacking rule. Attributes and income sum every copy in this revision. Movement, Morale, Luck and duration ignore identical copies but can combine distinct types. Percentage modifiers from distinct applicable types multiply sequentially.

Movement uses fheroes2’s scale: Traveler’s Boots +300, Nomad Boots +600, compass +500 and Astrolabe +1,000. The community inventory uses smaller figures of 3/6/5/10 for these series. Logistics and Navigation modify the baseline before these bonuses are added.

Seven items contain drawbacks: Fizbin, Tax Lien, Hideous Mask, Arm of the Martyr, Broach of Shielding and both Hearts. The reference Alchemist’s Tower removes every carried cursed item for 750 gold, including mixed-benefit equipment. The tower must be available on the particular map.

Helmet, Sword and Breastplate of Anduran assemble into Battle Garb in one bag, freeing two slots. The result gives five Attack, Defense and Spell Power, maximum Morale and Luck and Town Portal access. It gives no five Knowledge; creature-type exceptions remain.

Ordinary pickups have reference tiers I–III. Acquisition conditions, guards, possible resource offers and scroll contents depend on the map. Golden Goose belongs to the eight Ultimate forms; this revision does not transfer them to the winner on outright defeat. Retreat and surrender differ from outright defeat.

Cards link the relevant spells and creatures requiring produced resources. An engine revision does not establish agreement with every historical release; specific source differences remain identified in the rules.
