How to use this hero
Home faction: Barbarian
Barbarian expeditions with Advanced Pathfinding
Use Crag Hack for Barbarian expeditions benefiting from his listed Advanced Pathfinding. Give Orcs firing opportunities and commit Wolves according to the actual risk. This Heroes II profile does not inherit the same-named Heroes III hero’s skills or specialty.

Suggested army and further development
The following is our recommendation. Creatures, spells and items must actually be acquired; this does not establish current inventory.
Build further choices around the listed skills and the needs of the current army. Choose equipment for the actual bottleneck: survival, attack effectiveness, mana or movement.
Skills I would build around: Advanced Pathfinding. Match further choices to available ranks and the current army.

Compare effect, slot and acquisition conditions on the item card. A suggestion does not establish that the hero starts with it.

Spells and suitable equipment
The standard class starts without a spellbook. A magic plan first requires access to spellcasting.
Equipment suggestions for the plan (2)
Editorial suggestions based on sourced magic or an army plan. These are not starting inventory or guaranteed finds. Check acquisition, slot and rules on the item card.
Power Axe of DominionSuggestionAdds two Attack, one more than the mace or flail.
For a plan based on the led army’s physical attacks. Its benefit depends on your creatures and opposing defense.
Stealth Shield of ProtectionSuggestionAdds two Defense without granting hero concealment.
For an army exposed to attacks; compare the protection with the actual incoming damage type.
Creatures connected to this hero
A specialty target, conversion and tactical example are different relationships. Check conversion costs and compare individual upgrade forms on creature cards. A tactical example is not a confirmed starting army.
Detailed game plan · Crag Hack: Pathfinding, Orcs and timing melee contact
The following is our tactical analysis of the sourced profile. Choices depend on the actual map, learned spells and army; linked cards provide rules and references.
Start with the actual listed skill
Crag Hack’s Heroes II profile lists Advanced Pathfinding. Do not substitute an Offense specialty from another game or add unsupported starting Archery. Compare terrain, access to the objective and route length. Travel savings matter when they bring the army to a usable reward or a fight it can handle.
Separate recruitment budgets from upgrade cost
At the listed recruitment prices, ten Orcs cost 1,400 gold and have 20–30 base damage. Ten newly hired Orc Chiefs cost 1,750 and have 30–40; total base HP increases from 100 to 150 and Speed from two to three. The difference between these recruitment budgets is not automatically presented as the upgrade price for creatures already owned.
The Wolves’ second attack must actually happen
A Wolf has Speed six, Defense two and a double melee attack. Before committing, compare reach, retaliation and further attacks the stack will face. Two potential strikes do not guarantee a safe or completed attack. Plan Orc protection at the same time: moving a fast stack from a defensive position can open the enemy’s route to your shooters.
Make later magic conditional on acquisition
Do not base this standard Barbarian’s opening on an automatically owned spellbook and learned support spell. If acquired later, compare Wisdom requirements for higher spells, current mana and the day’s remaining fights. Heroes II does not use the later Air, Earth, Fire and Water Magic mastery system here; a Heroes III build does not transfer unchanged.
