How to use this hero

Home faction: Knight

A Knight army with protected shooters

Use Lord Kilburn with a Knight army that protects Archers and gives them more useful shots. This is a class-based plan: Heroes I does not give him the later games’ individual specialty and secondary-skill systems.

What the profile establishes

Heroes I does not have the later secondary-skill system.

Suggested army and further development

The following is our recommendation. Creatures, spells and items must actually be acquired; this does not establish current inventory.

Heroes I does not have the later secondary-skill system. Develop the four primary attributes. For magic, distinguish Knowledge and individual spell preparation from Spell Power and effect strength.

Editorial suggestions based on sourced magic or an army plan. These are not starting inventory or guaranteed finds. Check acquisition, slot and rules on the item card.

  • Thunder Mace of DominionSuggestion

Adds one hero Attack, supporting the attacks of the army they lead.

For a plan based on the led army’s physical attacks. Its benefit depends on your creatures and opposing defense.

  • Armored Gauntlets of ProtectionSuggestion

Add one hero Defense to support the army’s defensive calculation.

For an army exposed to attacks; compare the protection with the actual incoming damage type.

Detailed game plan · Lord Kilburn: Knight, Archer protection and spell preparation

The following is our tactical analysis of the sourced profile. Choices depend on the actual map, learned spells and army; linked cards provide rules and references.

  1. Plan around the class and actual army

Lord Kilburn is a standard Knight. These recommendations describe neither a unique personal specialty nor guaranteed starting stacks on every map. Development uses four primary attributes. Before leaving, compare assigned shooters, suitable companions, acquired equipment and the distance to further recruitment.

  2. Compare shooting cost with protection

At the listed prices, ten Archers cost 1,500 gold, have 100 total base maximum HP and deal 20–30 base damage before modifiers. Five Pikemen cost 1,000 gold and have 75 total base HP; compare their Defense 9 with the shooters’ Defense 3. These numbers alone do not decide the outcome: protection matters if it prevents contact or preserves another shot.

  3. Build protection around reachable attacks

The listed Archer speed is Slow and Pikeman speed is Medium. Before contact, check enemy reach and who can actually attack. Place Pikemen to protect shooters without closing a needed route. When attacking in melee, budget retaliation and subsequent enemy actions; companions lost needlessly protect only one moment.

  4. Actually prepare magic before relying on it

A standard Knight does not start with a spellbook. Acquire a Spell Book and available spells before a magic plan, then check each spell’s individual remaining uses. Knowledge relates to preparation and Spell Power to applicable effect strength. Heroes I uses no shared mana pool for those stocks, and raising a primary attribute alone does not acquire another spell.
